As our
name implies, we help people qualify and apply for various government
programs. With over 75 years of combined experience, we assist
Veterans and Widows of Veterans to determine their eligibility for
benefits.
VA
benefits generally fall into two categories: service connected and
non-service connected. Our firm specializes in the non-service
connected pension benefit. Public Law 95-588 Veterans and Surviving
Spouses Pension Benefits.
There
are 3 benefits that all fall under the umbrella of Disability. There
is the Aid-and-Attendance benefit and the Housebound Benefit
program that is available to a veteran who requires the assistance
of another person in order to avoid the hazards of his or her daily
environment. A Veteran or their widow can receive one of these two
benefits. In addition, there is an improved pension benefit. To
be eligible for an improved pension benefit most Veterans must have
90-days or more of active military service. At least one day of this
service must be during a period of war. The discharge must be other
than dishonorable. The Veteran must be permanently and totally
disabled for reasons not related to military service. However, the
words that have been overlooked for far too long are disabled OR OVER
AGE 65. Indeed, if you are over age 65 the VA sometimes puts you in
the same category with someone who is disabled.
